What is the Secret Beyond the Secret?
In the Secret we are learning to focus on what we want and not on what we don’t want. This is a major step forward for mankind. It is a modern revision of the art of prayer in terms of metaphysics and quantum physics. Due to the baggage of religion, the teachers of the Secret have minimized religious terminology, and that sets the stage for everyone to more actively benefit.
For me the step beyond focusing on what I want is to focus on what is being given to me right now. Quite often, what I think I want is quite limited. What I think I want is only a symbol. What I think I want is blocking me from realizing what I already have.
Just suppose that right now I am being given the universe. Suppose that right now I already have what it is that I think I lack. Suppose that the universe is already mine and I don’t realize it. Suppose that every event in my life is grace and I don’t see it. Suppose I am spiritually wealthy already. Suppose I am spiritually healthy already. Suppose I am spiritually happy already. Being aware of these facts and grateful about them, causes them to materialize in ways beyond our imagination.
Suppose I am just ignorant and confused. Suppose I don’t have to wait for materialization. Suppose I don’t have to switch my focus from an old car that I don’t want to the new car I do want? Suppose that I am spiritually whole and don’t realize it. Suppose that the kingdom of reality is always fully present in me now. Suppose that I am keeping myself from the whole enchilada by resisting the old and waiting on the new?
How do I know what is best for me? Is a new car best for me? Is God not giving me more good than I can handle already? Am I awake and aware of what that is and where it is? If I am focused on what I don’t have and on what I want, am I going to miss the Infinite Good that is already being offered?
The Secret Beyond the Secret is that I am not aware of the wholeness, the perfect, the Infinite Good, the desirable, the wanted, the abundance…..that is here now. In my very next instant, God is here now. I can receive the wholeness now. It is always being given, it is always present already, we are just not here. We are out to lunch. We are stuck in past or future with our thinking, wanting, regretting, dreading, fearing, envying, complaining, criticizing, blaming and suffering.
We think that joy is pleasure. We think we know what is pleasurable and what is not. We are trying to avoid pain and obtain pleasure about certain things, certain activities and certain people. We do not see that joy is here now in all things, activities and people.
We do not see the difference in pleasure and joy (contentment). Pleasure comes and goes. Contentment does not. Pleasure-seeking is an anxiety-ridden pursuit. Contentment is the end of anxiety. Security-seeking is an anxiety-ridden pursuit. Security-awareness is not. Control-seeking and power-seeking is an anxiety-ridden pursuit. Trust and power-awareness is a present reality and has nothing to do with other people, circumstances or the body. Seeking love, support and appreciation are anxiety-ridden pursuits. Love-awareness, support-awareness, and appreciation-awareness is possible right now and have nothing to do with other people or circumstances. Awareness is the Secret Beyond the Secret.
It’s okay to focus on what you want. The Secret is okay. But there is a faster, more efficient, all-inclusive Secret Beyond the Secret. There is a state beyond the Law of Attraction. This state was called Buddahood by Buddha and the Kingdom of God by Jesus. I have called it the Infinite Good or Reality or godhood.
The Infinite Good does not have to be asked for, sought, visualized, or waited for. Awareness is all that is required. Awareness of Reality is the Secret Beyond the Secret. It is not the action of a law. The Secret Beyond the Secret is Reality- Awareness.
Whatever happens next is a symbol of the Infinite Good. If you think it is bad, useless, boring, or harmful, it is. If you think it is God in form, it is. If you perceive everything that happens as a gift to and for you, it is. You do not have to wish for or wait for anything. It is all here now. The Infinite Good is all that exists. If you wish for a new car, and it gets a fender ding the next day, that ding is your gift as well. The imperfects as well as the perfects are Perfect. The goods and the bads are Infinitely Good. In true awareness, there are no goods or bads. The awareness of the Infinite Good is the true treasure of life. That awareness is the Secret Beyond the Secret.
All that anyone could possibly want is the awareness of the Infinite Good. Even when you want that new car, that new house or that new relationship, you are wanting the awareness of the Infinite Good through forms. The Infinite Good is present already in the old car, the old house and the old relationship. The Infinite Good is present in old and new forms. You can enjoy either, both or neither.
Forms come and go, the Infinite Good does not. What you really want is to be able to enjoy the Infinite Good in all forms. That is the Secret Beyond the Secret.
How do I know that you can have what you want? You already have it. The universe is yours. Access your awareness. Would a perfect god give to his or her perfect child less than perfection? Would God give you desires without fulfillment of those desires? What torture that would be! He gave us desires and their fulfillment both at the same time. The entire kingdom of God is yours. All that he is or has is yours. Nothing has been withheld. Even unlimited awareness is yours. That is the Secret Beyond the Secret.

Today I am grateful for the greatest gift of all, the Secret beyond the Secret: Awareness.
