What is The Secret a threat to? To everyone’s vested interests! Don’t we all have a vested interest in our story? You had better believe it!
The Secret is a threat to the beliefs of scientists, doctors, therapists, churches, politicians, military establishments, business men, universities, even to kindergartens. The Secret is a threat to society itself. The Secret is a threat to all of our stories about how things are.
The Secret is freedom. Freedom is a threat to all of our vested interests. The Secret is a threat to our so-called national security. The Secret is a threat to the war machine. The Secret is a threat to every individual who believes in good-versus-evil.
What will be the fate of the Secret? It will for many be a flash in the pan. Many assume it is another get-rich-quick scheme, another codependency strategy, another new age deception, and soon it will be dropped as being a farce. At least half of those now zealous about the Secret will be bitter about it in one year. It will become more new age fluff for many.
The resistance to the Secret is already beginning to build. Many are already saying it is wishful thinking, it is anti-Christian, it is non-scientific, it is just a big buildup for another let-down.
But what is the Secret? The Secret will require the rest of your life to understand its depths. The Secret is not just a new technique. Eventually the Secret will lead you to the Secret Beyond the Secret. Eventually you will realize that the Secret is just Step One. The Secret shows you how to improve your story. The Secret Beyond the Secret completely undermines your story and the anxiety that goes with it.
Step One is to dig into the Secret. Go all out for it. Learn how it works and doesn’t work! Then see if there is another step, the Secret Beyond the Secret. You can’t get to the Secret Beyond the Secret without "getting" the Secret.
If the Secret is prayer, the Secret Beyond the Secret is praying without ceasing, and who knows what that is?
