Dirty Little Secrets?
How many secrets are left? Only One. All of our dirty little secrets amount to nothing. Of course, we guard them with our very lives, but they are nothing. There is only One Secret in the universe. The rest are as old as time itself.
Every secret that is kept in the skeleton’s closet is soon broadcast over the nightly news. on the internet, or in the latest water cooler gossip session. Why all of this embarrassment and secretiveness? It’s just ego stuff. There is not a single new secret or problem in mankind’s whole history. What is the worst it could be? Rape, murder, embezzlement, cheating, theft, psychosis, obesity, homosexuality, lying, psychosis, your prison record, rage, envy, villainy, hypocrisy? Ho hum. What else is new? These are all as old as Adam and Eve, and as recent as today’s Hollywood gossip column. You have lived thousands of lives and done it all. The only secret you haven’t discovered is the Big One.
There is only One Secret left. That is what we are here on earth to discover. You have to give up the sacred worship of your family secrets, your plots and schemes, your guilt, your isolation, your fear of discovery, your delicious little sexual habits, your addictions, the skeletons in your closet, your buried embarrassments, your secret humiliations and prides.
The only thing keeping you from The Huge Secret is your anxiety about your dirty little nothing secrets. Give them up. They are not worth one more minute of your time or energy. They are all that is keeping you from Bliss. Our sub-human opinions of yourself and others is all that keeps us from Godhood.
A million secrets could be exchanged for the Big One and you would forget them all. You wouldn’t care who knows because they were all substitutes for real knowledge. All of our whole million secrets are ho-hum. Not a one is worthy of you and that is why we try to hide them. But we never succeed.
Imagine your picture and the entire detailed story of your worst secrets on the front page of your hometown newspaper. Go and look. It is all there, about “someone else,” of course. But, face it, there is “no one else.” There are just us sub-level non-human robots walking around asleep. Men are as trees walking. No one is different from anyone else. Sorry. We are all stuck on Level One ego stuff. Give up all of this hypocritical innocence and guilt. It’s all that keeps you from yourself and your bliss. Forgiving is no big deal. You haven’t lost anything. You haven’t been degraded. You aren’t hurt. You can’t be. Just think of all of the millions of hours of regret, hiding, repressing and projecting your fake self upon others. None of it is true. It’s all just gossip.
You haven’t done all of this dirty little secret stuff? Yes, you have. If you have imagined it, you have done it to yourself and others. Get over it! It never happened. All of our fears and mis-imaginations are nothing new, but are as old as history. We can get over them. It’s not worth it, it’s all that stands between you and absolute bliss. All of your so-called imagined guilts and crimes were simply your desire for the good you believed you didn’t have.
