The Universal Human
According to Barbara Marx Hubbard, a 21st century futurist and visionary, we are the crossover generation. For the first time since evolution began 14 billion years ago, we are the first humans privileged to move from homo sapiens to homo universalis as a conscious individual and collective choice. There have been a handful of enlightened mystics and masters throughout the ages, but never has the preparation and timing been right for the average person to understand and choose such a quantum leap in consciousness to Universal Human awareness.
Many factors, forces, technologies, leaders, and movements have set the stage and given us the opportunity to awaken to our infinite potential now in this lifetime. Barbara is one of many capable and talented voices echoing the announcement of this momentous occasion. Just at the time when we seem perched on the edge of planetary self-destruction, we can make the choice to shift perspectives from the time-bound ego outlook to the Essential Self vision of a new world. This mammoth paradigm shift is happening all over the globe as a grass roots movement under the banner of many different symbol systems. Whatever words are used, it is a new paradigm of universality, unity, infinite awareness, rebirth, inclusiveness, inner transformation, and peace.
All of our old systems are grist for the mill of this new birth of civilization. Nothing even remotely like this has ever happened before. All of our old thought forms and institutions are inadequate to hold the power of this new energy. Everything that has ever happened in human history will be useful but not determinative. Spontaneity and co-creativity mark this evolutionary leap in consciousness to a degree that is so dynamic that we can’t keep up with it. It changes by the minute and by the hour like a breathless and exciting adventure. None of our old concepts and habits hold a candle to this new life form. Change is its watchword. Dying and being reborn daily is its mark.
In my work, I am calling this shift Level Two Living. It’s not so important what it is called as what it is. My map of this mammoth consciousness shift shows us that Reality = Level One/anxiety/Level Two. We have been stuck in a Level One limited worldview since the beginning of time. Anxiety is a signal of this stuckness as well an invitation to move to our natural inheritance of unlimited Level Two awareness. All that we ever wanted and sought after in various outward forms on Level One is already available in our hidden Level Two Self. We have never known what our good is and where it is located. No one has to miss it this time, but if you are going to “get it” you have to put it first. Being stuck on Level One is our only human problem; finding Level Two is our only solution!
